Percy Street Chronicles

People are natural story tellers. The ability to share ideas and come together over common dreams, beliefs or experiences is critical to our sense of community. Artists tell their stories visually, which can off surprising new insights and connect us in unpredictable ways to the limitless world of ideas. This in turn, can bring a sense of an even larger context of human belonging.

Zyma Amien, Ingrid Bolton and Janis Milligan are the artist of ARTiculate that share the Percy Street Studios. The present the chronicles exhibition with a desire to tell stories that will stimulate thought, conversations and connections with their audience.

Flow… water land being presents Suren Pillay as well as a group exhibit consisting of various artists. In conjunction with our exhibit we had the Desert Garden Collection modelled and displayed. Our aim is to give new and upcoming artist exposure as well as established artists. Below is a list of the artists that were showcased:

LUNI, which means the salt of the earth, or riverbed in Sanskrit, is keeping in line with the significance of its name. Based in Salt River, Cape Town this creative space will give the local and aspiring artists a nurturing space to display their art and grow alongside other talented creative’s, and provide customers and artists alike a beautiful environment to either interact with clients, enjoy a light meal or a great cup of coffee at our coffee bar.

The selection of local artists will exhibit their work for a 4 – 6 week period, after which new artists will be brought into the gallery to keep the atmosphere fresh and continue to give new talent a space to showcase their creative.
